Snapshots from a Sustainopreneur

“The Web is /…/ vital to democracy, a communications channel that makes possible a continuous worldwide conversation. /…/ Yet people seem to think the Web is some sort of piece of nature, and if it starts to wither, well, that’s just one of those unfortunate things we can’t help. Not so. We create the Web, by designing computer protocols and software; this process is completely under our control. /…/ The goal of the Web is to serve humanity. We build it now so that those who come to it later will be able to create things that we cannot ourselves imagine.” —

Tim Berners-Lee, the innovator of the WWW, in his latest Scientific American feature - “Long Live the Web: A Call for Continued Open Standards and Neutrality” (that I introduced my path as a contributing editor in the Social Media Club Editorial Team).

Last posting in my instant sharing of findings and discoveries tumblelog - where my tumblelogging will be migrated to my soon-to-be-launched Personal Community Hub - aptly named the #Inbox. Stay tuned! I will continue to live by the spirit expressed by TBL himself - thanks for making all this possible and happening!

UnProfessor :) Brian Solis (@BrianSolis) interview by @TNW on his old/new book “Engage” - v 2.0 cut/extended:
“When I was writing Engage! it was incredibly arduous for me to get cover to cover knowing it’s not a realtime product. That challenged me to think about the value of a book in this world. I realized that it was less about moving and reacting to the realtime nature of technology and stepping back to understand the roots causes of those trends so you can design strategies and business methodologies around them. The true purpose in all of this is to be the one driving those movements.”
(via An interview with Brian Solis - TNW Social Media)
It’s all about filtering, deepening, diving, curating, distilling, extracting, reducing, reflecting - to get beyond, above and below as a means to reach deeper insight about stuff on the “social web” and how to make it there. Social services brands and their developments has to be made independent of a strategy conversation that must take place in the first place. The Holy Graal is STILL - how do you generate engagement and how do you spark meaningful conversations? Here is a clue, now in upgraded version :).
